Formats

About the formats

JPEG image
JPG (JPEG) is the most widely supported photo format. It uses lossy compression, so files are small and open everywhere, at the cost of some detail.
AVIF image
AVIF is a next-generation image format based on the AV1 video codec. It compresses better than WebP and JPG, but older apps can't open it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your files never leave your device. Nothing is sent to our servers.

Will converting JPG to AVIF lose quality?

AVIF uses lossy compression. At quality 90 the difference is very hard to see; lower the quality for smaller files.

Is it free?

Yes. The free plan converts up to 3 files at a time, up to 50 MB each. Note05 Pro ($5/month) removes ads and raises the limits to 100 files and 2 GB per file.
