FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your files never leave your device. Nothing is sent to our servers.

Is the layout kept exactly?

Text, headings, lists, tables, links, footnotes and images are kept. Page-level layout such as columns, text boxes and exact fonts may change, because the document is rebuilt rather than copied.

Why does the first conversion take longer?

Your browser downloads the document engine (Pandoc) once, about 16 MB. It's cached for next time.
