Formats

About the formats

MP3 audio
MP3 is the universal compressed audio format. It plays on every device.
WAV audio
WAV is uncompressed audio. Quality is perfect but files are about ten times bigger than MP3.
M4A (AAC) audio
M4A is AAC audio in an MP4 container, used by iTunes, Apple Music and voice memos. It sounds better than MP3 at the same size.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your files never leave your device. Nothing is sent to our servers.

How big can my audio files be?

Up to 200 MB each on the free plan and 2 GB with Pro. Very large files depend on your device's memory.

Why is the first conversion slower?

The first time, your browser downloads the converter (a few MB). It's cached, so later conversions start right away. Where your browser supports it, video uses your device's hardware encoder.
